When to start my new pup, Bro

Bro was eighteen weeks old when I decided to take him out for his first hunt which was across the gully from my house. Joining us was my other three dogs Fog, Tig and Rastus. We walked from the house down across the gully around the four wheel drive track and it was over here that Tig and Fog tracked off with Fog going one way and Tig going the opposite direction. It was Tig that I could see on the GPS that he was stationary so I thought he may be looking at a pig. He was there for about one minute before he gave off one bark. With this Rastus took off to join him. This boar obviously did not like the second dog and broke around the face before being bailed again this time by both dogs. Bro stayed with me and followed in until I was closing in the last couple of meters through the tight stuff when I heard Bro join the bail but this boar was having no part of the young dog and charged.
