THE BIGGEST PIG EVER

We had seen a lot of pig digging but It was starting to get a bit boring so I had my PowerAde and treats Dad had brought me. All of a sudden, the dogs jumped down and went crazy.

It all started on a Sunday morning, Dad came and woke me up so I jumped out of bed and started to put on my hunting clothes and my new chaps that Steve had given me. While Dad was warming the truck up I went and let the dogs out of there kennels so they could have a stretch.

We loaded up the truck and headed towards the Ashley forest, we met up with Steve at the gate and headed up to our block. We crossed a couple of small rivers and headed up the hill spotting a few rabbits on the way. Dad said we couldn’t shoot them though as we wanted us to stay nice and quiet.

Time to start hunting, we put the tracking collars on the dogs and put them on the truck to box hunt them through the block. We had seen a lot of pig digging but It was starting to get a bit boring so I had my PowerAde and treats Dad had brought me. All of a sudden, the dogs jumped down and went crazy, skidding down the road and into the bush. We jumped out and let the other dogs out to help, we waited for a few minutes then the dogs started barking. We jumped in the truck and drove as close as possible, when we got out we could hear barking and squealing, I was starting to get really nervous and excited.

We had to go through some really thick prickly bushes, we heard a dog get injured so this made us hurry as fast as we could. When we got there, I was super happy, it was the biggest pig I had ever seen. Steve gutted the pig and I put the pigs heart up in the tree to say thank you to the forest for such a great pig! Can’t wait for my next adventure!
