Jeremy and Dulu hunt Turangi

Well it was a Sunday arvo after relaxing with the family for the day we decided we would head out take the dogs for a quick run .
Time wasn’t on our side as it was about a hour till dark so off we went to a local spot about 5ks from Turangi town to give the dogs a stretch this place is well known for holding good pigs and have pulled a fear few out of there. Pulled up, let the dogs out. Off we went. 5 minutes into it and we seen some good marks on the track so turned the truck off. Dogs took off for a nose around and within 10 minutes we had ourselves a 4 dog bail up.

Dogs singing away and had no gun so we called up the bro to bring a gun, shot in to see if there was anything I could do while waiting for the gun but as soon as I got in there I seen there was no way I was able to grab it so I went back out by my partner and babies waiting patently for the bro. Not even 5 minutes later the bro turns up, we went straight into it.

Took 2 shots to get him down and what an experience it was to have my family right there in the flesh and my team working there hearts out to put Kai on our table. All in all it was one hell of an experience and a memory I will cherish for ever.

We had no time to muck around as I had to shoot my pack straight to the vets as they didn’t come out to good. While I was doing my dogs my bro, cuz and neff came to the rescue and brought the pig home for us while we tended to our kuris making sure they were ok before we came home. Day 2 I’m still in awe. Still can’t get over the wicked mahi my dogs did to keep that bugger there till I could get there with a gun.

UPDATE from Author 04/01/2023: The main dog that helped pulled it up was Eelymayne she sadly passed away this morning peacefully her last hunt was yesterday.
