A hunter in the making

This little lady has been going hunting longer then she’s actually been alive! With dad, mum and the older siblings all keen hunters Harper didn’t stand a chance of not catching the bug and considering mum was hauling deer out of the bush only a week before Harper made her grand entrance into the world it was no surprise that they were back out there catching pigs with the latest little one tagging along in the front pack on what should have been her birthday (but she decided to come 3wks earlier).

Harper is mad on anything hunting and will yarn with anyone about the hunts she’s been on or the ones she’s been told she missed, she can find pig hunting on YouTube and while others her age are watching babyshark she’s curled up watching a firey boar being bailed up and taking on all the tips for her hunts to come.

Harper loves to be involved in all the aspects of a hunt. She is a great help at home running dogs, helping to clean kennels and she doesn’t mind doing the carry out of any dog tucker we bag on the hills. She pushes herself to walk as far as her little legs can take her up and down gullies and is always more then happy to get down and dirty pulling out guts and having an “assisted” carry of the pigs taken home.

This little Las is one to watch I’m sure she’ll be posting her own stories as soon as she learns how to read and write, until then I’m pretty proud to be doing it for her.

Thanks to Carrie for writing this amazing article about her daughter. We look forward to Harpers stories and photos as she continues in her hunt career.
